Air India-Singapore Airlines Partnership Expands: More Flight Options From October 15th.
Air India and Singapore Airlines will expand their cooperation on October 15, with more independent travel options across eight Indian locations and new frequent flier perks.
Air India and Singapore Airlines will eliminate a fundamental restriction from their codeshare relationship on October 15, 2026, allowing passengers to book eligible trips between India and Singapore through either airline without having to combine routes operated by both carriers.
The move affects 126 weekly flights between Singapore and eight Indian cities: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
What has changed since October 15?
Currently, an Air India-operated codeshare flight booked via Singapore Airlines must be coupled with a SIA-operated trip, and the reverse is also true.
That situation will no longer exist after October 15. Travelers can book qualifying India-Singapore flights provided by either airline individually through:
Air India and Singapore Airlines both have websites and smartphone apps.
Appointed travel agencies
For Indian travelers, this implies additional options when comparing schedules, costs, and onward connections via Singapore.
The overall trend is clear: airlines are forming alliances to increase network reach without adding every route to their own timetables.Frequent Flier Benefits Expand
The two airlines have already expanded their mileage earning chances. Since April 2026, Maharaja Club and KrisFlyer members have been allowed to earn points on more qualifying booking classes and cabin types on flights operated by either airline.
Beginning in Q2 2027, the relationship will expand further.
Eligible elite members will receive extra perks, including:
Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club offer priority check-in and boarding.
Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver offer additional luggage allowance and priority boarding.
These advantages will apply to eligible routes and will supplement existing Star Alliance benefits.
More connectivity is planned.
Air India and Singapore Airlines are also working on better schedule coordination to
reduce connecting times and long waits.
The airlines are contemplating new efforts for corporate travelers, as well as improvements to the whole booking and travel experience.
Their existing codeshare arrangement currently includes 77 destinations in 27 countries and territories, with Delhi, Mumbai, and Singapore serving as significant hubs for connecting passengers from Asia, Europe, North America, and Australia.Travunited Take:
We see this as a realistic update for Indian travelers, providing greater booking freedom today and improved frequent flier rewards later. The October update is instantly useful.
