Air India will stop operating flights in the US, Europe, Australia, and Asia until August 2026.

Air India will stop operating flights in the US, Europe, Australia, and Asia until August 2026.

Until August 2026, Air India has announced interim cuts and suspensions on a number of foreign routes in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia. The airline offers passengers refunds, date modifications, or alternate flights, citing rising fuel prices and continuous airspace limitations as the reasons for the change.

Between June and August 2026, Air India has announced temporary cuts and suspensions on a number of foreign routes that will impact flights to North America, Europe, Australia, and portions of Asia.

According to the airline, the action was taken in response to the ongoing restrictions on airspace in certain areas and the extremely high cost of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). Air India claims that these difficulties have made it difficult to run several scheduled routes profitably for the time being.

Additionally, the airline claims that the modifications are intended to increase schedule consistency and lessen passenger last-minute interruptions.

Over 1,200 international flights are still operated by Air India each month.
Air India claims it would continue to operate more than 1,200 international flights per month across five continents despite these temporary reductions.

This comprises:
33 weekly flights to North America
47 weekly flights to Europe
57 weekly flights to the United Kingdom
158 weekly flights to the Far East, Southeast Asia, and SAARC nations; 8 weekly flights to Australia
