Commercial operations begin at Navi Mumbai International Airport.

With the official start of commercial operations, the Navi Mumbai International Airport promises to provide the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with much-needed capacity.

On December 25, 2025, the airport opened for business with a ceremony commemorating the arrival of IndiGo's first aircraft.

By February 2026, there will be 34 daily departures, up from the initial 23.

IndiGo's initial ambitious plan of 18 daily departures has been scaled back to 67 weekly frequencies.

Starting with services to Delhi and Goa-Mopa, Akasa Air intends to expand to 300 domestic and 50 foreign flights each week.

By January 2026, Air India Express would have 12 weekly flights to Delhi in addition to its initial daily flights to Bengaluru.
