The Significance of This Expansion
1) An increase in cruise tourism
India is promoting itself as a cruise destination, particularly in the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

2) Straight Coastal Access
Now, travelers can:
Get closer to local locations
Steer clear of big cities like Chennai or Mumbai.

3) Dispersed Immigration
More ports equate to:
Reduced traffic
Quicker processing
Improved distribution of regional tourism
Crucial Guidelines Travelers Need to Understand

Despite expansion:
Only the designated airports, seaports, or certain land boundaries are open for entry.
Denial of entrance may result from attempting to enter through non-designated ports.

What This Signifies Moving Forward
One of the most significant structural improvements to India's e-Visa system since its inception is this. The emphasis is moving from airport-only entry to multi-mode entry (land, sea, and air).
Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, two coastal states, are becoming as important international entry points.

As cruise traffic increases, more ports should be added.

Concluding Remarks

An obvious shift toward simpler, more flexible travel is indicated by India's extended e-Visa entry network. More options, easier arrivals, and improved access to India's many coastline destinations are all benefits for tourists.
