India Reactivates Its Pandemic-Era Airport Portal for Ebola Screening with Air Suvidha 2.0
By Travel News Desk
India has reactivated the Air Suvidha portal, originally introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of enhanced health surveillance measures in response to concerns over the spread of Ebola. The updated system requires travelers arriving from designated high-risk countries to complete a health self-declaration before entering India.
The revived Air Suvidha platform enables passengers to submit travel history, contact details, and health information online before departure. The move is intended to help authorities identify potential health risks early and strengthen screening procedures at international airports.
However, Air Suvidha 2.0 is not being applied to all international travelers. Instead, the requirement is limited to passengers arriving from countries identified by health authorities as being at risk for Ebola transmission. Travelers from other destinations are generally not required to complete the form unless further public health advisories are issued.
While the portal enhances preparedness and facilitates faster screening, experts note that self-declaration systems rely heavily on accurate information provided by travelers. As a result, airport health checks, monitoring, and international cooperation remain essential components of disease prevention.
Passengers planning to travel to India should check the latest government guidelines before departure to determine whether they need to complete the Air Suvidha form.
How to Complete the Air Suvidha Form
Eligible travelers can submit their mandatory Health Self-Declaration Form online through the official Air Suvidha portal up to 24 hours before arriving in India. The form should ideally be completed before boarding the flight to ensure faster immigration clearance upon arrival.

Passengers should download or keep a copy of the submitted Self-Declaration Form and present it, if required, at the International Travel Health Desk or Immigration counter upon arrival
