Thailand's Reasons for Changing Course
Earlier this year, Thailand terminated its 60-day visa-free program for 93 nations, including India, citing security concerns and abuse.
It had an instant effect. Following the policy reversal, Indian arrivals decreased by about 20%, according to official figures from Thailand's Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
This most recent decision is in line with a pattern that many tourist-dependent locations are adopting: restricting lengthy stays while making short vacations simple.
Why Just 30 Days?
It seems that Thai authorities have matched the rules to the behavior of actual visitors. Since Indian visitors only stay in Thailand for an average of 7.2 days, a 30-day visa-free stay is more than sufficient for the majority of visitors while resolving issues associated with longer stays.
When Will It Begin?
After being published in Thailand's Royal Gazette, the new regulations will go into force 15 days later. Travelers who reach Thailand prior to the implementation of the updated regulations may proceed with their journey under the terms that were in effect at the time of arrival.
