The national flag airline of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways, recently declared that it is increasing the quality of its flights between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai and New Delhi, two of India's busiest cities.
According to the carrier's announcement, lie-flat Business Class seats will be available on all flights on these itineraries as of May 1, 2026, while a new First Class product would be available on certain services.
The action demonstrates how significant the Indian market is to Etihad, which presently operates 11 locations throughout the nation.
All Daily Flights Now Offer Premium Cabins
Abu Dhabi serves New Delhi and Mumbai four times a day. The airline's new Airbus A321LR will now be used on two of these daily flights; the remaining services will still use wide-body aircraft such the Boeing 787, Boeing 777, and Airbus A350.
Practically speaking, this means something straightforward. Fully flat mattresses, direct aisle access, and improved meals and service will now be available to all premium passengers on these itineraries.

A321LR Presents a Real First-Class Experience
Despite being a narrow-body aircraft, Etihad has made the Airbus A321LR feel more like a long-haul wide-body flight.
The aircraft has two private First Suites with sliding doors that provide a quiet place to eat, work, or unwind. A huge 20-inch 4K screen, Bluetooth connectivity, wireless charging, and high-quality bedding are all included in each suite, which can be turned into a completely flat bed.
