The US has suspended TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, and Cognizant from the PERM Green Card Program.
The United States has blocked major Indian IT corporations from the PERM green card program, causing uncertainty for foreign workers seeking permanent residency.
The US government has stopped seven major IT firms, including Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Cognizant, and Capgemini, from a federal program that sponsors foreign workers for employment-based green cards.
The US Department of Labor also suspended Microsoft and Adobe from the Permanent Labor Certification, or PERM, program. Officials stated that the measure was taken in response to claims of immigration program misuse and concerns about the impact on American labor.US Shuts Green Card Route For Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Microsoft: 'Hire Americans' - iDream Post English
What Does PERM Suspension Mean?
The PERM process is a crucial step for firms who want to sponsor eligible foreign workers for permanent US residency. The Labor Department stated that it will not accept new PERM applications or handle any ongoing PERM applications involving the banned companies.
The move could generate additional uncertainty for Indian professionals, notably H-1B workers employed by these organizations who are awaiting employer-sponsored green cards. It may also hinder long-term US immigration prospects for workers now in the sponsorship system.
The suspension does not cancel any existing H-1B visas or green cards. Its immediate impact is on the PERM stage of the permanent residency application.US suspends Cognizant's green card filings amid visa fraud probeCompanies Affected

Capgemini
US officials claimed that the impacted companies had jointly submitted a huge number of foreign-worker applications over the years, accusing them of contributing to practices that could disadvantage American workers. Not all of the companies have responded publicly to the charges.
This is another indicator that the US is strengthening its inspection of the H-1B and employment-based immigration systems, which is especially important for Indian technology professionals because Indians account for a high proportion of H-1B approvals.US suspends TCS, Infosys and Wipro from PERM: What Indian IT workers need to know
Travunited Take:
We at Travunited regard this as a significant setback for Indian IT workers seeking US permanent citizenship, albeit existing H-1B visas remain valid and the immediate impact is limited to the PERM application procedure.
