VFS Global Alerts Australian Indians to the Dangers of Unofficial Visa Agents
Indian passport and visa applicants in Australia have been cautioned by VFS Global not to use unofficial agencies or third parties. According to the firm, only six approved VFS locations are able to handle Indian visa and consular services throughout Australia.
Indian passport holders in Australia are being advised not to rely on third-party intermediaries who claim to have connections to VFS Global or the Indian High Commission. VFS Global issued the warning after reminding applicants that it is Australia's only authorized service provider for Indian passport and visa services.
This is important for Indian families, workers, and students who already have to contend with lengthy visa lines and document delays. Time and money can now be lost due to an incorrect appointment, a fraudulent service charge, or an unofficial "fast-track" promise.
Applicants should only utilize the official portal for appointments, application tracking, and service updates, according to VFS Global.
Australia has just six official VFS Global Centers.
Additionally, VFS Global made it clear that only these six authorized locations, which are open Monday through Friday by appointment only, offer Indian consular and visa services:
City, Address, and Time
Suite 2, Level 4, 90 Adelaide 08:30–15:00 King William Street, Adelaide, SA 5000
08:30–15:00 Brisbane Office 0403, Level 4, 127 Creek Street, Brisbane City, QLD 4000
Level 4, 10 Hobart Place, Canberra, ACT 2600, 8:30–15:00
08:30–15:00 Melbourne Suite 4, Level 12, 55 Swanston Street, Melbourne VIC 3000
08:30–15:00 Perth Office 0403, Level 4, 127 Creek Street, Brisbane City, QLD 4000
Sydney 08:30–15:00 Suite 106, Level 1, 83 York Street, Sydney, NSW 2000
Passports and other personal documents should not be given to agents working outside of these official channels, applicants have been cautioned.
Appointments Are Still Required
Walk-ins are not permitted for the majority of services, according to VFS Global. Before visiting a center, Indian applicants must schedule appointments on the official website.
For Indian students approaching Australia's mid-year intake season, when passport renewals, OCI services, and visa processing typically increase, this is especially pertinent.
The Significance of This Advice for Australian Indians
The larger picture is that Australian immigration and consular systems are tightening up on document processing and identity verification. Similar alerts are already showing up on visa networks around the world, particularly in cases where fraudulent brokers target foreign students and first-time immigrants.
The advise impacts thousands of travelers and locals handling passport renewals, visa applications, and OCI requests because direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai feed sizable Indian communities in Australia.
We believe that VFS Global's advice is timely and useful. Too many Indian candidates continue to use unauthorized brokers overseas, which frequently results in unnecessary delays, fraudulent reservations, or document problems.
