Detailed Itinerary

Day 1/ Patna (Arrival) - Bodhgaya (114 kms/ 3 hrs 24 min):

Arrive at Patna and drive to Bodhgaya where the Buddha attained enlightenment. Enroute visit to Nalanda and Rajgir. Nalanda (one of the most famed university citadels of ancient times). Rajgir, was once the ancient capital of the powerful Kingdom of Maghada. From the outskirts of Rajgir, a historic road leads to Gridhakuta, or Vultures Peak where the Buddha preached. Overnight in Bodhgaya.

Day 2/ Bodhgaya:

After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing of Bodhgaya visiting Mahabodhi temple. Overnight in Bodhgaya. (B)

Day 3/ Bodhgaya - Varanasi (251 kms/ 6 hrs):

Morning after breakfast leave Bodhgaya for Varanasi. On arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon excursion to Sarnath. Overnight in Varanasi. (B)

Day 4/ Varanasi - Kushinagar (251 kms/ 5 hrs 30 min):

Early morning boat ride on the river Ganges to sees the sunrise and the bathing Ghats of an ancient Hindu city. Later leave proceed to Kushinagar. Half-day sightseeing and overnight in Kushinagar. (B)

Day 5/ Kushinagar - Lumbini - Sravasti (240 kms/ 5 hrs)

After breakfast leave Kushinagar for Lumbini (in Nepal). Later sightseeing of Lumbini. Emperor Ashoka, in the twenty-first year after his coronation, visited this Birthplace and raised a pillar on the spot. Later proceed to Sravasti (Sahet-Mahet). Overnight in Sravasti. (B)

Day 6/ Sravasti - Lucknow (153 kms/ 3 hrs 30 min):

Morning visit Sravasti (Sahet-Mahet), the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Kosala, an active center for Buddhism. After sightseeing proceed to Lucknow. Overnight in Lucknow. (B)

Day 7/ Lucknow (Departure):

After breakfast, transfer to Airport/ Railway station for your return journey. (B
